Service: Habitat for Humanity
Description:

Nonprofit, ecumenical, Christian ministry founded on the idea that every man, woman and child should have a decent, safe, affordable place to live.  The Lewis and Clark Habitat for Humanity is the Bond County Chapter.

  • We build energy-efficient, sustainable housing.
  • Disaster response program helps families homeless by natural disaster, war, or unrest.
  • Homeowners and volunteers build under trained supervision.
  • Individuals, corporations, faith groups and others provide financial support.
  • In the US, HFH lends no-profit, no-interest mortgage loans to its beneficiary families.
  • International uses innovative housing finance and/or partners with micro-lenders.
